The NECRONOMICON, roughly translated, The Book of the Dead. Forged from the mind of H.P. Lovecraft and just a piece in a series of literature known as the MYTHOS. 4PM DESIGNS has delved into the darkness for a unique deck design. While among the dead, this deck has resurrected the Great Old Ones and their knowledge has possessed these 56 cards to bring you MYTHOS: NECRONOMICON.

The Limited Edition Mythos: Necronomicon will be our most limited set of cards in production!!! These decks will feature a Metallic Rainbow tuck box which at first glance is silver, but when light hits it, turns various colors as you tilt the box. This isn’t USPCC’s common foil stamped deck. The complete tuck box is made of foil. In fact, the USPCC no longer works with the tuck provider which developed these boxes for their previous decks. By our request, they began working with them again and are now setting up a limited run of only 1,500 boxes.
We had to redesign the box in order to highlight the foil, which makes the box designs appear silver. Don’t worry, the cards are still the same great design as in the standard Mythos: Necronomicon deck. The deck will also contain an exclusive custom seal to help distinguish the deck from the rest.

Each Court Card is first hand drawn without computer enhancements. Pure pencil to paper sketches. The image is then scanned and manipulated to blend into the card design. Finally the image is color graded to match the other images and pips. At the end, we have a imperfect yet visually attractive and symmetrical playing card.
Necronomicon seals and hidden symbols
Filled with the sacred hidden symbols from the Mythos of H.P. Lovecraft, every card is backed with this carefully designed image. Each suit has been beautifully implemented into the border to create a rememberable and unique card back. The spirits beyond the grave call out to you, can you decipher their plea?
Card Borders
Each card embellishes a unique border, presented in a very light grey color tone. Each set of 13 cards, per suit, contains the custom pips for that specific set. Spade cards have Spade borders, Heart cards have Heart borders. Even though each suit contains its own border, they all flow together wonderfully when being fanned and flourished. A very first for playing cards.
The Necronomicon is the title of a fictional book created by H. P. Lovecraft. Numerous other authors including Clark Ashton Smith, Brian Lumley, Ramsey Campbell and Keith Herber have added to its contents over the years.
The Kitab al Azif (original Arabic title of the Necronomicon) was written in the early 8th century by Abdul Alhazred. Alhazred was a poet in the court of a minor nobleman in the city of Sanaá. For reasons unknown he left the city and spent ten years wandering in the deserts. During this time he visited places such as: Irim, the City of the Pillars; the catacombs of Egypt; and the temple of Nug and Yeb in the Crimson Desert. In his old age Alhazred lived in the great city of Damascus, where he produced the Kitab al Azif. In the long years that followed many translations of this great work have been made.
