3. 義和 Xi He – 9 Tailed Fox – Black, Gold Gilded, limited edition of 888
Unfortunately due to hoarders and speculators, the price of Xi He has now bloated up. Please note that this price was not set by me. Moving forward, I hope that we can all work to get King Star decks at a more reasonable price and prevent this practice. To me, King Star and Acelion decks are beautiful and exquisite works of art, they are not gold bars to be treated like a commodity!

❓I actually don’t encourage anyone to get this, unless you really want to. But, for those who were lucky to get this before, at a more reasonable price, I hope the backstory enhances your appreciation of your deck! Meanwhile let’s all enjoy the amazing artwork – personally I have a weakness for paranomas!

🌟 The full title is actually 云梦山海, which is a very poetic saying that translates to this: “Drifting along the clouds, traversing vast mountains and seas.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t make for very succinct titles, so I’ll (reluctantly) stick to the “Cloud/Sea series” as it has come to be known.

🌟 Both Xi He (Black tuck, Gold Gilded) and Qiong Gou (Grey tuck, Regular) have double tuck cases featuring 3 layers of cut out hollowed design. This echos the artform of Chinese paper cutting. The redesigned double-layer inner and outer tuck case, with the addition of UV technology on high quality Pearlescent paper stock, makes it feel lifelike with the embossing.

🌟 The Card back design for Xi He (Black tuck, Gold Gilded) is borderless, and is specially designed for Cardistry, to ensure a smooth fanning even with Gold Gilded Edges. Qiong Gou (Grey tuck, Regular) features white borders. For both Xi He and Qiong Gou, 7 decks make up a perfect panorama scene.

🌟 Printed by MPC, the numbered universal edition is limited to 2500 copies worldwide. Numbered on bottom of tuck case.

🌟 Xi He comes from the legend of the sun god, the god of folk beliefs. There are several sun gods in Chinese traditional myths, primitive beliefs, folk beliefs and religions. They are: Dijun aka Emperor Jun, Yandi Shennong, Xihe, Sun Lord, Dongjun, Sun Star Jun, Golden Crow, etc.

🌟 There is a sun goddess in China, the sun goddess is named Xihe. There is a story in the earliest encyclopedia “Shan Hai Jing”: “Beyond the East China Sea, between Ganquan and Spring, there is the country of Xihe; there is a woman named Xihe, the wife of Emperor Jun, who was born for ten days and often bathed on the day Gan Yuan”.

🌟 Sun Goddess Xihe
In other words, there is a woman named Xihe in the Xihe country. She is the wife of Emperor Jun and gave birth to ten suns; the “Mother of the Sun” is one of the legends about Xihe.
Xihe is also the driver of the sun. “The Songs of Chu·Lisao” says: “I will let Xi and Mi Jiexi, look forward to the crest without compelling.”; The meaning of the verse is: Xihe drove the carriage calmly and walked with the sun on the way home. Xihe masters the rhythm of time, driving the sun from east to west every day; because of her unusual ability, in ancient times, Xihe became the person who set the time calendar again.
