– This is not a King Star designed deck. It’s designed by WohStudios, printed by King Star Playing Card Company (KSPCC), and fulfilled by HuiQi upon launch. This is equivalent to the Rising Sun Kickstarter deck designed by Mr Lambert, printed by USPCC, and fulfilled by Gambler’s Warehouse. KSPCC is how King Star makes its bread and butter. What this means, is that you can be assured of the quality of how the cards handle for Cardistry.

🪐 和 means “harmony”
玺 means “imperial seal”
和玺 refers to the architecture style of elaborate and colorful Imperial Paintings found on ancient temples related to royalty and royal palaces, especially during the Qing Dynasty. It was an elevated artform and the artisans were very respected.

🪐 Incorporating imperial paintings into the Cardistry deck, the four suits and colors represent the four dynasties, reflecting the diversity and nuances of Chinese culture. It also uses foiling and other techniques to highlight the elegance and power of each dynasty! Actual historical characters are featured, and they are legends who are definitely worth reading up on.

🪐 Spades feature the founding emperor of the Houjin (later Qing Dynasty) – Qing Taizu Nuerhachi as the main character for character construction.
– Aixinjueluo, Nuerhachi (1559-September 30, 1626), the leader of Jianzhou Jurchen tribe, later the first Great Khan of Jin, he was the actual founder of the Qing Dynasty. Born in Zuowei, Jianzhou (now southwest of Xinbin County, Liaoning), his father is Takshi, his mother is Xitala, and Nuerhachi is the eldest son.

🪐 Liu Bang (256 BC / 247 BC June 1, 195 BC), Zi Ji, Pei County Fengyi (now Jiangsu Province) Feng County, Xuzhou City). The founding emperor of the Han Dynasty, the founder and pioneer of the Han nationality and Han culture, made outstanding contributions to the development of the Han nationality and the unification of China.

🪐 1. Imperial Painting 和玺之绘 – 三尺令 “He Xi – Bamboo Slips of Law” (Black, Regular Cardistry Edition), limited edition of 2888
The law was generally written on bamboo slips that are three feet long (the length in ancient times), so later generations will use 三尺令 the law of three feet as another name for the law.

🪐 Craftsmanship: A version specially made for Cardistry. Using 300G German imported black core paper, thinner and better handling. Features special metallic inks, gold and cyan gold are used on both tuck and cards, creating gorgeous patterns.

🪐 Design elements: The double-curved line of the card box adopts the brick pattern of the Han Dynasty, which means 文武双全 “excelling in both scholarly and military powers.”

🪐 2. Imperial Painting 和玺之绘 – 状元令 “He Xi – Top Scholar’s Order” (Red, Mini Cardistry Edition, 4.15 cm x 6cm, approx 1.6 x 2.4 inches), limited edition of 1888
Craftsmanship: This is the MINI size cardistry deck. Using 300G German imported black core paper stock, thinner and better handling.

🪐 Design elements: The theme of the Top Scholar’s Order is based on the main color of Top Scholar Red. The design of the 平步青云 “flat stepping green clouds” shading and double-curved lines adopts the “window lattice” element that symbolizes the hard work of the proverb 寒窗苦读 “reading by the cold window”. The card face has enlarged numbers, so the MINI size will not hinder normal use. The back part of the card uses elements such as 天圆地方 “heaven and round place”.
